Life: I ought to have worked on my thesis today - editing the final version - but ye gods, I needed a day off. I got food, though \o/ Am now going to watch Dollhouse, which is back from its hiatus. Le squee, yo.

ETA: It came back from hiatus last week, which means I now need to wait for 2x05 (boo!) and I get two episodes to watch (yay!)

Nano: Because I'm incredibly insecure right now and terrified of the whole "permanent and in print" concept of the free proof copy, if anyone wants to read the blurb and/or author's bio and tell me if it sucks, yea or nae, have at it.

The apocalypse is in full swing when Chip takes to the road and does his best to avoid the infected. In Kansas City, he reluctantly joins up with Saunders, a widowed grandfather, and twelve-year-old Agatha.

Upstairs, a man is dying from inexplicable wounds.

On October 31, 2009, the author signed up for the National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) project. This novel was written one month and over 50,000 words later.

In related news, Fanmix covers and lyrics lists done, but actual mix pending. Similarly, Dean&Icarus scene still unfinished.

ETA: Main scene finished. Coda of midnight snuggles pending. (I can promise neither midnight nor snuggles.)

Vid of the Day: [livejournal.com profile] sokkpuppet's Supernatural Fanvid This Woman's Work. Discussion here.

It's about the representation of women in the show. As commentators say:
"Part of my head, the part that adores Supernatural and the boys was (is) sputtering, "but there's so much more there!" However, as time passes, the calmer part of my head reminds me -- just because there's more there, doesn't mean that that negates the violent and brutal images and scenes showcased in Women's Work. It doesn't. It can't." - [livejournal.com profile] butterfly

"women's suffering continues to be the *impetus* for the story while men's suffering *is* the story" - [livejournal.com profile] coffeandlink

Giving yourself a day off is a good thing.

I am reluctant to comment on the blurb because I haven't read the story yet. Maybe I will sometime this month! I have time to do things now!

♥ There's no way I can come up with a blurb. As long as it doesn't suck, though... Like, right now I'm just concerned that the sentence structure isn't utter crap or something like that. Just superficial non-suckitude, regardless of whether it's an appropriate blurb.

I've missed you on the internet ): But you've been busy, which is good, yes? *more ♥ thrown at you*

I vote yea for both =)
I like the blurb because it would pique my interest if I didn't know anything about the story beforehand =)
And days off from thesis writing is necessary to maintain one's sanity ♥

It doesn't suck at all! It creates a very appropriately mysterious air of I-want-to-read-this-novel-now.

*thumbs up*

*is excited*

*flails*

You are teh shit, you are not allowed to forget that.

Almost done with the pdf! Just one tiny scene to write - which is totally your fault, by the way - and then it's done! (Fanmix almost done, too.)

I'm discussing the blurb with a friend via email, making a few changes which I hope will make it better. (I'm just so insecure about this blurb thingy!)

...I have shitty memory ;)

Usually I'm all about denying me being at fault, but I'll gladly take the blame for this one. ;)

Don't worry so much! I totally understand that insecurity and perfectionism that would make you fuss over small details, but in the end, what matters is the actual book, not any blurb that is pretty much unable to get across the whole extent of your unbelievable awesomeness. Duh. ♥

And if you have shitty memory, I'll just have to keep reminding you, now don't I?
