Nano: Omfg, people, Nano winners get a voucher for CreateSpace to send them a free paperback of their book! OMFG! Go to I Wrote A Novel, Now What for details. You bet your ass I'm doing this! (Right after I get it all finished and figure out how the site works and maybe get my thesis finished too and all that other stuff.) I can has book!
Obviously I'm not going to put it for sale because of the nasty legalities that may bite me in the ass. Also, it wouldn't sell and if it did I'd have to set up tax details and stuff.
I think I'll be using B. Sickle rather than my own name because my real name sucks (this may or may not be true) and I guess I just feel closer to my chosen name that my given name. Also, there's nothing wrong with using a penname. ...right? Anyway, it's just me who'd get the one copy, so whatever makes me happy. ...right? Oh Gods, why so guilty?
Also, is country of publication the country where I'm living in and want them to send the book to? I mean, so they don't go all "Ah, but you said Country of Publication is the USA and we only cover basic shipping costs so ha-ha you don't get your book shipped over?"
Whilst doing stuff on CreateSpace, I learn that there's a Fiction -> Gay category for books?!? What the flying fuck is this? A book about nothing but the fact of a characters sexual preference? Wouldn't that book fit in any other category? Why must we ostracize books based on sexuality? I'm confused.
Writing Dean vs. Icarus scene. It's going a bit better than yesterday's headdesk of fail. And now I have an extra coda of Icarus sneaking off to snog Dean in the middle of the night that I may need to write. (It's all your fault,
seschat!)

Date: 2009-12-04 11:47 pm (UTC)As far as I recall, the CreateSpace offer extends to Canada as well as the US- it may not for overseas. But you could put my address in and I could ship it to you, because you need a copy of your book!

Date: 2009-12-05 12:41 am (UTC)Ah, shipping blargh. I'll use my brother for that, then, 'cause we uses me for EU addresses anyway. Thanks for the offer, though, muffin.
...I'd been planning on printing the pdf and binding it anyway. This is just so much cooler!

Date: 2009-12-05 03:32 am (UTC)OFF TOPIC: I've been catching up on your previous posts. The list of crushes is awesome- I'm going to do one sometime this week. We shared a crush on Donatello, btw.
Also, I watched most of the first season of MERLIN last year and it isn't very good. It is, however, strangely addictive. I still can't understand why Guinevere is black, and why she's a blacksmith's daughter. Anyway, that Children in Need video is awesome- 'you were cc'd on the email" is brilliant.

Date: 2009-12-05 02:28 pm (UTC)I'm having more doubt over filling in the blurb and author's bio than I've had for the entire Nano. Like, I think they suck vast amounts of suck. I think I might go ahead and use my real name for the book, but only because then I can point it out at people and say, "Look! It's really me! That's my name!" But then I have no idea if I'm sure about this either. Gah.
The Dean vs. Castiel (who I think I might keep calling Icarus, just to keep the character constant) scene is almost over (and was a flippin' pain to write). The midnight sexin' is still vague, and may not have very much on-screen sexin' but there will be ~*emotions*~ or something. ...Nano will never be over, will it?
