Life: I have the most gigantic craving for pumpkin pie ever. I live in a country with no Thanskgiving, no pumpkin pie and no canned pumpkin goodies. Woe!

“This was the place you wanted – no, sorry, needed – to be so fucking bad that you brought the whole city’s infected to our doors? This rathole?”

“This is where we need to be.”

“Correction, angel-boy: this is where I am dropping your ass. This?” Chip gestured between them. “This whole manipulation thing? Not good, man, not good at all. And that’s on top of the whole trying-to-get-us-killed thing.”

“I told you, no harm was going to befall you.”

“So what’s in there? Vast quantities of chocolate? Nubile virgins? Harps?”

“Hope.”

“God I hate you,” muttered Chip.

I have not actually searched for pumpkin ingredients, although the supermarkets here are sorely lacking in a lot of things. (President's Choice, how I miss you and your delicious food.) I may be able to bake me some pie, who knows.

I tried to make a pumpkin desert thing last year with canned pumpkin, ricotta, and chocolate chips from a recipe I saw in a magazine, and it was absolutely dreadful. I haven't craved pumpkin pie since.
