Nano: Writing's going much better and things are moving along \o/ I'm trying not to forget Agatha, itty bitty girl though she is. I'm rather proud of how far Chip's progressed :) He likes people now! Everyone's in the car and we're heading out of Kansas City! Next up, happy flashback, Icarus bleeds out, unhappy flashback, Icarus reveal and... Yeah, that's as far as I've got.

At his back, the locks clicked back and the door opened a crack. He pushed it open further, making Agatha stumble to the ground, and slipped in, slamming the door just in time for the three infected to crash into it. Trembling with adrenaline, Chip re-locked the door and turned to Agatha, who was staring at him as if she were close to tears.

“No, no, listen,” he said immediately, “they’re okay. You hear me? They’re okay, they’re in the car.”

“What’s going on, Chip?” Agatha drew her hands to her mouth and chewed on her knuckles, taking in his blood-splattered clothes. On the other side of the door, they could hear the three infected getting up and struggling against each other.

“They got in, is what happened. Come on,” he added, pressing a hand to her shoulder and guiding her to Saunder’s room. “We’re leaving.”

“Now?” she said.

“Yup.” Chip heaved the gym bag over his shoulder – they’d be needing the supplies. He was confident he could make it back down to the car with the bag: he’d had good practice with his duffel. He was at the bedroom door when Agatha scampered to the closet.

“Wait!” she said, rummaging through the clothes piled on the ground. She pulled out a bloodied bundle of black and tan. “This was Icarus’, he might want it.”

“Leave it, Aggie, it’s useless.”

Tears brimmed in her eyes and she clutched the stained clothes to her chest. “It’s all he has,” she said.

Now was definitely neither the time nor place to put on his Freud-hat, so Chip trusted his gut and stretched a hand out for the clothes. He managed to stuff it into the gym bag – barely – then hauled the bag back onto his shoulder. Agatha stood beside him expectantly.

“Give me your hand,” said Chip, “and stay close.”

Questions Meme, tagged by [livejournal.com profile] seschat:
FIRST: If you've been tagged, you must write your answers in your own LJ and replace and questions that you dislike with a new, original question.

SECOND: Tag eight sexy people. Don't refuse to do that like a pussy. Unless you really don't want to, of course. And if you're not tagged and you want to do it, then do!

I tag [livejournal.com profile] blizzardcake, [livejournal.com profile] lienne and [livejournal.com profile] phantmgreeneyes. The rest of y'all can tag yourselves.

Favourite song right now?:
Lonely Ghosts - O+S, but I'm very fickle with favorites.

What did you last eat?:
Salmon onna bagel and latte. I should have had dinner by now, though. *sigh*

What kind of books do you read?:
All kinds? I may vie away from those that are conspiracy-heavy (because I can't follow the plot with all those people) or horror in the sense of mundane-crimes, but I'm game for anything. I seem to prefer fiction, especially the kind no strictly set in the real world (as in, there's something magical, supernatural or whatever going on).

What are you reading right now?
I've just finished listening to the audiobook for Dead Until Dawn by Charliene Harris (i.e. True Blood, book 1) and I've got a re-read of Threshold by [livejournal.com profile] greygirlbeast on hold, as well as Le Lion by Joseph Kessel... I need more time to read. Hell, I can barely keep up with fanfiction (basically short stories). *eyes unread chapters of [livejournal.com profile] leonidaslion's Suite!Verse and The Bright Lights of Disturbia*

If you could be anywhere right now, where would it be?:
Biddles (ex-House of Jazz), Montreal, sharing a brownie with Kathleen.

What's really creepy?:
Psychotic bastards who kidnap people and keep them as sex slaves in their basements for fucking years. I hate those people. They get the Special Hell.

What's your current fandom / obsession / addiction?:
Supernatural / Misha Collins / Nanowrimo

What are you most excited for?:
Finishing Nanowrimo. Or maybe my Thesis. Nah, Nano.

What websites do you always visit when you go online?:
Yahoo Mail, Livejournal Friendslist and Metaquotes, Google, Nanowrimo, YouTube. That's the extent of the internet for me.

What was the last thing you bought?:
Aside from food? Credit for my phone. Unless you mean something I bought purely for the squee, in which case... I got nothing.

If you could have any pet, what would it be?:
Cat! (Seriously, I even have recurring dreams of snuggling a cat of my own.)

What do you want right this minute, off the top of your head?:
For my back to stop hurting and someone to make me dinner.

Where is the place you like to return to calm down / relax / etc.?:
The internets. I used to have a favorite place in the outside world, but it's been ripped apart and is under construction, so feh.

How many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll centre of a Tootsie Pop?:
I vaguely remember watching adverts for these mysterious things back when I was wee and we got American television. For some reason the memory is coupled with that of a cartoon Tucan. Look, I have no idea, okay?

Are there any bits of childhood that you miss?:
The bits I didn't get to have, actually, the bits that make me tear up when I watch certain happy comedy movies. But alright, to answer more appropriately, the lunchtime discussions in the locker room with my friends in Montreal. That was pretty sweet.

Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter?:
Winter, as long as there's snow (not rain and wind, Holland, you hear me?!?)

Say something to the person who tagged you:
You're totally awesome, [livejournal.com profile] seschat. Major ♥ to ya!
