I've just realized - after some 5 hours - that Photoshop is the TVTropes of software. It's this gaping black hole that sucks you in, spitting you back out eons later. Still, I've got pretty things done, so no loss. (I'm really quite pleased with 'em!)

Today I actually worked at an office! With my very own login ID! Whoot! ...and it was boring as all hell. Organized lion photos and started on ID sheets for them. I'm not even through January. Oh gods... *whimper* And I have a meeting next week with Supervisor. Might spend some time on Easy To Analyze stuff, just to have something to show him. (I doubt he'll be impressed by my, "Look! Folders! With folders in them! And pictures! Amaaaazing!" sell.)

So did that for most of the day, and the other half was spent with photoshop and google. Also, got food. This is good when you consider lunch today was white rice with seaweed sprinkles. (Delicious, yes, but that's not the point.) Plus the vending machine at the Bio Building have lousy selections (as in, three types of Kit-Kat but only paprika potato chips, and nothing remotely food-like).

I finally watched The Princess Bride and wowza! I didn't know so many jokes that stumbled through the internet came from it. Rodents of Unusual Size! Ah, brill'. (Must read book.)

Went to the Hague this weekend (sheep! fat cows! graaaaass!), watched Coraline (♥!!!) and saw massive sand sculptures smack in the middle of the plaza. Because that's just the place.

Oh, I have a Tale of Woe for all ye who wear glasses. I got new glasses this Christmas (thanks for getting shittier, eyeballs!). Problem was, they kept slipping off. (Like, "Omg don't look down!" off.) So I tried to get them fixed, but it didn't work so well. Four months later, I get to Holland and ask them to be fixed again. They do so, and now they don't fall off. Yays, right? Sorta. 'Cause they fixed the glasses by melting the bit in the middle (as opposed to the sides, which is what they tried last time, but I drew the line at having the things wrap around my ears). The bit in the middle is just dandy. A corner of the lens, however, not so much. So these brand new glasses now have a spot where everything's sorta blurry. 'Sauce.

One last thing: I now have SPN Season 4 in its entirety. I watched an episode yesterday. Gods but did I miss the boys.

Not half as much as I miss a boy, singular.

ETA: Went to doctor today, for a check-up. Got the o.0 look because apparently in Holland check-ups are for wusses old people, and not once a year**. We talked a bit, she checked out some bizarre discoloration spots on my skin ("No worries!") and listened to my heart and lungs to check my health. Now, lungs I get, but heart? I hope to gods that the heart isn't one of the first suckers to show symptoms when one is sick. I mean, I could be seriously sick and my heart could be dandy for a good long while. Dunno, just seems pointless.

Aaaand it's tomorrow again and I'm not sleepy at all. \o/ Stupid sunlight at 10 pm.

ETA2: Thunder! Lighting! Wee!

Starting Monday, I will start posting chapters of a full-length novel version of The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making. I will be writing it in real time, posting every Monday. It will be free to read--but please know that the sheer calories to make my brain create it require funding, and I would very much appreciate your support. [...]

This is a book about a little girl named September who gets herself a ticket to Fairyland on the back of The Green Wind and a somewhat cranky Leopard. There she discovers the realm of the capricious Marquess and the dangers of the Perverse and Perilous Sea. It is going to be something else.
