I listened to RCarlyle's commentary on Ravenous yeterday, which means I absolutely and irrevocably own the DVD. It wasn't...it wasn't all I'd been hoping for, really. I mean, his commentary starts of in chapter 4, with the appearance of his character, and he doesn't say much. Meaning, it's not a run-on commentary, just the occasional interesting point. There were a few instances where the silence just ran on a touch too long and I found myself wishing some'd exlplaind things more clearly to Carlyle, or that it'd been two commentators rather than one.

But then the man gets a bit of steam going, and he really does say interesting things. And the way that you can expect JWhedon to talk about camera angles and philosophy, Carlyle went on about the science of acting. Like, "move slowly during night shoots to help the camera's focus not go fucky," and "that was improvisation, to try and reflect what's going on over there." So in the end I was rather pleased, though I still wish he'd just talked a bit more.

I packed a few things yesterday, and I really think that my room's near empty enough that one more trip is all it needs. Read more... )

Regarding Ye Beurocratic Hell, things are looking up. I'm sending my birth certificate today, by certified mail because I wasn't born yesterday, to the Ministry of Justica so they can fully legalize it with the Haye Convention sticker. They say it's a pretty immediate process, and the only delay will be due to the mail. So, yay.

MJesus, with whom** I spoke yeterday, her hubby and younger son will be trekking over to this side of the coutnry from Madrid. Jose, her hubby, is from Cataluña and has folks a town or so away from Cubelles. We've all promised to try and get in touch and see each other this weekend, though I'm not so sure how far to count on that. Still, it'd be nice.

It's starting to sink in how much I'm going to miss the (really, really few) people I've met here in Barcelona. Read more... )

Quote of the Day:
There are people who put their dreams in a little box and say, "Yes, I've got dreams, of course I've got dreams." Then they put the box away and bring it out once in awhile to look in it, and yep, they're still there.

[livejournal.com profile] darthmaligna's posted serious spoilers on HP: DH. You have been warned. If you cannot resist the clicky, it's not my fault. I managed to resist the mighty powers of the LJ-cut, but only just. I have absolutely no idea when I'll be able to get my hands on HP7. Probably not in two days. More likely it'll be a long, long while. *woe* I'll be spoilered silly by then, I just know it.

[livejournal.com profile] charmx is lovely and provides many more lovely things. Like a list of recommended fanvids, including dear [livejournal.com profile] obsessive24, this other recommended fanvid by [livejournal.com profile] newkidfan, described as "poetry in motion", a downloadable collection of her fanvids, including the much-awaited Don't Stop Me Now fanvid for The Master (Dr Who).
[livejournal.com profile] newkidfan, of the "poetry in motion" fanvid, continued being amazing with the fanvid "Ambushed" and wonderful with their walk through Shanghai. [livejournal.com profile] newfankid also recommends [livejournal.com profile] blithesea's Too Good to be True fanvid, a lovely thing due months of work.
