I don't get out much.*

I've been watching Lost in English with Victor at work - slow day - pausing and explaining the English every so often and man, is it exhausting. But kinda neat. It's a great way to teach.

Yesterday I went to the French Institutue to watch a show. It was a bunch of peotry readings in anyone one of the following languages: English, Spanish, Catalan, Portugese, Italian, German. Let me puff out my chest and declare that I understood most of what was said throughout the show. *satisfied sigh*

Other than that, I am bored out of my fucking mind.

Not cool.

ETA: Ma' called. Not quite sure why, but she did manage to make me miserable again. (It's a bloody gift she has.) She keeps randomly telling me to throw stuff away, because it's not in style or old or whatnot. I don't think she understands that there are somethings I'm not quite ready to throw away right the fuck now, regardless of my not having anywhere to put them in the near future.

Links of the Day Weekend, Part 1:

Neil Gaiman has the Hugo-nominated How to Talk to Girls at Parties story up as text and audio. Links to the other Hugo-nominated short stories are available from that site. Nippon 2007 also has all of the nominees up, with "links to all but one of the novellas, novelettes and stories, and even one of the novels."

He's also on YouTube reading Locks
from Fragile Things

You can also read "Clive Barker's inspirational speech on genre as a continent, given impromptu at British Fantasycon" which is here.
