And if you try and take it off me I may have to eat you.*

I'm hooked on Scarlett's Sands through the Hourglass - so glad it's not a WIP - so all's well with the world. It's wierd, though, how much I've enjoyed these two Sands fics, seeing as I havn't watched the film. Usually - more often with less deveolped writers - you need to know the film / show and its characters back to front, because there's little exposition, you just jump right into the story with no lifesupport. But in these, there is some exposition of character, with varying pov's, and of the history of the plot and the characters. I really like that the character voices are vivid, and well-introduced, because I tend to get lost when there's too many names on the page and no voices in my head to go with them. So kudos to Scarlett.

For the plane, I won't have to print out these fics to read, which is great, because over 200 pages aren't cool to lug around, but sucks because I'm hooked. I hear PalmPilot's let you download .doc files... You know why? I bought Gaiman's Ananzi Boys. (Squee with me, people.) It only took 3 bookstores and 2 days to find the only copy of this book, hidden under a stack of fantasy books in some dark corner. Not that I was looking for that book in particular, just a book I'd be itching to read. You really don't want a book you'd rather stare at in despair as the only thing you have to read on the plane. And I've practically memorized the plane's instructional pamphlet.
