bending_sickleThere comes a point when everyone - no matter who they are - reaches that point. The point where the hypothetical comes factual, if not ethical**.
At 1:20 am tonight, I reached that point. I ripped restraint's hairy arms off from round my neck, put on my bitch-parka and righteous-indignation-sneakers, and went downstairs.
And rang that doorbell.
"...hello?"
*chirpy smile* "Hi!*** I'm your upstairs neighbour and I think it may be your music that I'm hearing coming in so loud."
"...it's possible."
"Okay, well, the thing is I live just above you - just above the room you're playing the music in, in fact - and it's quite late on a weeknight. So I was wondering if you could please turn the music down, because it's very disrupting and, as I said, it's very late. I'd really appreciate it."
"...okay, cool." *door slam OF DOOM*
"That went well."
And the thing is, it worked. So much better than seething and writing a letter I'd never slip under their door in the morning anyway.
*snuggles into bed for 5:30 hours*

** No neighbours were harmed in this episode, not that that was a certainty.
