I've been awake a little over 10 hours and I'm sleepy as all. But I cannae go to sleep yet, 'cause I've got to work on this week's project. Not the wikipage yet (thank gods), but I definately need to write out the notes into coherent sentences. It's about dragonfly conservation. Not as absorbing as you'd think.

I've got Jonathan Coulton (live)** for music - and man is he ever good live - and have finally figured out why I feel like a hot-flashin' menopausal woman. Someone put the thermostat at 27 degrees C. Wha? A few hours ago I was freezing and had to resort to desperate (i.e. sweater + bathrobe + blanket) measures. But really, 27 is just over-doing it, and it's not the first time by far.

Oh, and I actually went out today! At 5 pm on a Sunday, when everything is closed and it's dark and cold and windy and the WWF boys are out hunting for donations. (I'm poor, ok? Pooor! I'm not giving cash out to organizations on principle, these being mainly that I'm poor. Well, not exactly "poor" - more correctly, dependent on economically-concerned parents - but I definately have to justify each purchase to myself least the Motherly Echoes ring loud.) But still, out!

I managed to buy Dutch cookies for export, though I had a bit of trouble picking the right waffles to buy, because they could be filled with honey, caramel or "stroop". I have no idea what's in a stroopwaffel, or whether I've tried these before, but that's what I'm taking to my folks. So yeah.

And I might shuffle off to Amsterday and get a book for the plane ride and check out whether my memories of there being the nicer touristy mementoes there really is true. (On the other hand, it's 45 minutes and like 17E, so...)

Oh, and guess which day it is? (Technically speaking, o' course.)

ETA: metaquotes informs me that it snowed in Toronto. A lot. Like seriously.



Vae victis indeed. It's been a while since I last handled snow. Last winter, spent in Chicago, was disappointingly mild. (Like, "Gloves? We need no gloves!" mild.) *fears the Oncoming Storm Winter* *eep*

ETA2: You should have heard me tear Powerless apart last night this wee morn'. I was harsh and incitive and on a bloody roll! ...and I can't really remember most of it. But I critiqued like nobody's business. (And yes, Mo' got beat with The Stick as well.) This is reason #542 why I need a voice-recorder. (What? Like I'm the only one who yells at the screen in moments of duress.)

Gah, Ottawa is also being inundated with ze snow (similar enough weather as T.O.). I have been stuck all day in the house because of it... and a quick check just confirmed my that it's still coming strong!!

hm, the website says another 10-15 cm on top of what we have already and -19 degrees with the windchill O.o But the good news is that there are intermittant sunny days coming up throughout the week which is a good sign ;)
