No, you see a field. Do you see anything non-human? No, and you know why? Because it's a field!*

The weekend's been fantastic! Serisouly, I love this weekend to pieces.

Friday, after Ze Exam (accompanied by cookies and soda! offered by the professors! for free! during the exam!) I went home and lazed about watching Human Traffic - recommend liek woah - then to the Augustinus club** at Leiden to watch the Dutch film The Black Book, which was good and had Christian Berkel who seems to be in most of the German films I've watched. I loved him in Das Experiment, which is just a rockin' movie anyhow. Disturbing, yes, but cool too. Plus, it has my favorite German actor, Moritz Bliebtreu. And while we're on topic, I also recommend the 6-awards and 2-nomm's comedy Männer.

Then yesterday was market day at Leiden, so I wandered round it with Elisa, made a huuuuge mental list of all the food I'd love to buy. I did buy dolamdakia or dolmades (which Wiki calls Dolma and claims is Turkish, though the Greeks claim otherwise), a raw-herring sandwhich and a type of cinamin tea-scone. Then we went to Elisa's, had tea and talked for hours and then YouTubed; she's totally going to watch Human Traffic, but prefers Moff (Danny Dyer) to Jip (John Simm). Then dinner (mix-your-own wok) with three more girls, followed by a couple more hours of giggling and talking. And then, oh yes, lo and behold, Stardust***. I thoroughly enjoyed it. (Like, couldn't stop laughing and cooing in appreciation.) So, so good! (And De Niro! Wonderful man! Saucy, winking minx!)

Fans tour an on-theatre performance of BtVS's musical episode Once More, With Feeling and Fox shuts it down. "Basically, the idea of presenting television shows in a theatre is so new that there are a lot of details that still need to be resolved around payments of residuals, deals with the guilds and unions, etc [...]. Both Fox and Criterion [Pictures] need to fix some of these issues before they can continue to do any theatrical screenings."
In a number of plot-bunnies, Aphasia keeps hopping in and begging for carrots.
This clip from Human Traffic wherein Jip talks to two other Jip's about his mom, and the bit you can glimpse after it, aren't in the YouTube version of the movie and I don't quite know why. Or even, where it would go.
