bending_sickleI've been having interesting dreams of late.
Last night's involved a trip to outer-space. I was lying with a group of people on my back, looking up into the sky. Only it wasn't the sky, but the vacuum of space, as if we were floating in orbit. The Earth came into view, filling the entire panoramic IMAX-type window, so close you'd think you could touch it. It wasn't even round, that's how close we were. Just a long stretch of Earth-from-space, slightly curved at the ends.
On one side you could see it was night, but to our left we could see the sun-kissed African continent, and I got a sense of the immensity of the planet and of how our being in space, hovering over it, made it seem so small at the same time.
Then the view changed, and we lay back and watched outer space going past the window, scenes repeating themselves as if we were still in orbit, but looking out into the dark. We saw a small red sun spouting fire in such a pattern as to seem an angry face. A swarm of dust-particles, jellyfish-like in their motion, passed the screen. Some of the dust-clouds seemed to be reminiscent of disembodied heads, or just floating hair. There was a sense of danger comeing from these masses, as with the red sun.
At one point I took out my camera and took pictures of the spcae-clouds or creatures until I ran out of film, then I took out my digital camera (somewhat wider and retracting than my usual one).
The main thing about this dream, though, is that I saw such gorgeous things, absolutely wonderful things, and they are all in my fast-forgetting head.
I often have dreams about beautiful things, either concrete objects or views. Occasionally, instead of being visual, it's a voice-over narration or poem. But I can never quite remember what they were like, and I can't exactly take a picture of the dream, no matter how much I'd like to.

Date: 2007-07-26 09:39 pm (UTC)... I think my last dream had something to do with me hanging out in Montreal (and eating a Sub).

Date: 2007-07-27 09:31 am (UTC)I used to remember most of my dreams, back when I jotted them down - mostly illegibly - upon waking. But, yeah, my dreams are usaully about wierd things happening to other people. Voice-over commentaries aren't common, per se, but they happen.
