I've been reading Kushiel's Dart pretty non-stop this weekend. I mean non-stop. Like, '400 pages in a day', non-stop.
And yes, I've gotten lost with the court-intrigue, and the war-intrigue, but not hopelessly. At least I know who's who, for the most part, and most of the why's. (I suppose I'll read the Wiki: Plot Summary when I'm done. I've saved it, just in case it gets edited for being 'overlong', as they're asking.) The mythology, however, I have down pat.
I really like the narrative voice of Phèdre, the unusual turns of phrase, commas and verbs where I wouldn't think of putting them. The characters are interesting, particularly Joscelin Verreuil, whom I'm pleased to see makes it into three other Kushiel novels. (In my head, he's taken on the face, somewhat, of Silas, from The Da Vinci Code - you know the one, the psychotic murdering albino monk aka the hot guy. (Played by the oddly pretty Paul Bettany with surprising ease, if you'll believe this comic.)

You think you can paint the future. Fine, paint one without me. Congratulations, you're Simone Deveaux! You are a loving, dedicated person with a variety of creative interests. You may however, fall in love a little too easily. Your best quality: You are a romantic Your worst quality: You are a romantic
...so, I only have one quality, then?
Wiki helps explain the current xkcd comic. Once that's cleared, the comic is absoltely adorable and romantic to boot.
