Sickle's Life and Times: I've just got back from a long, long and delightful chat with a girl from my Italian class. Not only is she lovely and talkative (and just with that I had a wonderful time), but she was incredibly helpful in helping me figure out things regarding jobs and careers and What Sickle Wants. And I don't just mean well-intentioned advice based on personal experience: she used to work at a recruiting company. So there was a lot of experience helping me out today. The main lessons included think positive and pick where you want to live and work then jobhunt there. Plus, she's contacted old coworkers so they're going to get my CV and then I'm going to talk with them about things and there is so much flailing and squeeing that I can't finish that sentence. Also abject terror, but it's that self-defeating terror of change and challenge and "I cannae do this, captain" that is just going to have to get a sock in its face. In sum: awesomesauce. Plus? Incredibly likely social event this Saturday, hosted by another girl from my class. (Who, coincidently, is lovely, Californian and was a producer on Two and a Half Men and The Big Bang Theory.)

Since June 1, I've sent out four applications, inclding two laboratory positions, one dealing with data entry and one as an ecologist. I am absolutely terrified of getting a response. *stuffs a sock into that train of thought*

I've been having rather disturbing dreams lately.

1) Zombiepocalypse. I'm in a room with two other people and we're trying to fix a wall, drilling a hole into it to fix something about the closet or the wires or whatever. Two of us are pretty sure that the third is infected and are just waiting for him to turn. Eventually, he does, in the "Mwuahahaha! I've always been evil!" sort of casual way. I grab his head and stab him in the eye with my pennywhistle, then clean out the blood in the sink.

2) Cas is either evil or has been possessed by a yellow-eyed demon. There is an epic battle between demons and angels in a heavily overcast sky - I get flying-point-of-view - and they fly around each other trying to rip off the other's pair of wings, or are fighting over a single pair of wings, trying to take it from the other for themselves. Losing the wings means they not only fall to the ground but lose their grace or their powers, whichever applies. A crow holding a glowing green speck in its bill symbolizes the loss of the wings (as in, whatever is lost by losing the wings, it is in the green speck). It's a lovely image, but evil!Cas still fills me with, "Ye gods, oh no, that's so wrong and horrible!"

3) Eric Northman and oher vampires are in a room discussing matters of the "How about we kill you" type. Sookie's cuddling him on a table and I stroke his hair - mowhawk-style, for some reason - and he tells me, "I'll never leave you," which echoes very much of Dean Winchester. This dream was less disturbing than the others, although I wasn't particularly safe in it. I've had a surprising number of dreams about Eric, which is strange because I don't often have character dreams (and never a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles dream, despite my fervent wishing as a child). Must be all those hours listening to Charlaine Harris audiobooks.

4) I fight verbally with a girl on a bus, and I have the feeling that I win, but it's the sort of fight where you basically say, "No, damnit, I'm a fine person, fuck off!" I feel like a complete failure anyway. There's something scribbled in my notes about a monster, but it's pretty illegible.

5) Something about Harry Potter, Montreal, snow and discussions.

6) On a safari with the windows open, going past two lions.

Oh, and also? Your dreams are kind of scary, especially the first one! ;P One of the recurring themes in my dreams is me driving, cars, busses, whatever, and the terrified exhilaration that goes with it because I'm hyper-aware of the fact that I do not actually know how to drive and OMG the police will get it me AND I WILL GO TO JAIL. It's kind of funny, when I think about it. *g*

I have driving dreams too, despite not knowing how to, and what generally happens is either, "Oh lalala, this is so easy!" or "Omg, we're going into a ditch! Dive, dive!"
